We have files of the Journal of Commerce to the 18th June; We are informed that trade there has been brisk during the month. We extract the following on the state of the flour and sugar markets : — Flour. — Speculation in the southern markets still continues, and it is impossible to' state, from day to day, how they may rule. The prices .for Hart's, Duffield'syarid- Margery's average from £32 to £33. Holders dp not' press for sale, and there is very little disposition to speculate. Should information be received from, California of a scarcity there, prices may advance beyond present quotations. ". : ; ; A ... " Sugar. — A reduction of about £2 per ton has been- made in sugars. The Company's prices were lowered on the ,7th inst. : The demand has beenbrisk, and a considerable business, has been transacted. Some samples of ..
