We have been kindly furnished by J S. Johnston, Esq., Registrar of the Supremo Court, -with a list of the criminal cases to be heard at Invereargill, at the ensuing sittings of the Court, on 11th prox. Tho cases follow each other in the order of the committal of the prisoners. Murphy, for larceny ; Zealy, for larceny ; Murphy and Flanagan; larceny from tho person with violenco ; Mintosh, for indecent assault ; Ritcherson, for lavceny ; M'Pherson, for wounding ; Bane, for larceny ; Davies, for larceny; Grtmn, for perjury; Horsfall, for larceny; M'Devitt and Connolly, for lai'ceny from the person with Tiolence ; Camoron, for felony ; Whitehead, for larceny ; Crawford, for larceny ; Hogg, forlai-ceny; Evans, for larceny ; Daly alias Dempscy, for larceny\ Clark, for unlawfully wounding ; Duedncy, for uttering a forged cheque ; Bums, for arson, and Green, for larceny. The following is the state of" 1 H.: M. Graoh Invercargill, for the month ending : 16th instant :— Sentenced • to hard labor, 10 ; awaiting trial before Supreme Court, ; 20 ; remanded, (Resident Magistrates' Court) 1; debtors, 4; lunatics, 3 ;— total, 38. , Received ■during the month,— males, 32 ; females, '5 ;— total, 37. Discharged during the month,-— Males, 49; females, 6;— t0ta1.55. Decrease of inmates as compared w|th previous month, 1^: Of the 37 received during the month 12 were for drunkenness, 7 for debt, 1 for misdemeanour, 9 for assault, 3 for larceny, 1 for cutting and wounding, 1 for forgery, 1 for embezzlement, and two lunatics for medical treatment.
