JThere were at the time five other ' small craft and two steamers in, and tho Daring would have -had to wait probably for five or six J days before it could have been her turn to be | .discharged, with the chance of course of having to put to sea in the meantime, and so boing indefinitely detained! The expense of the operation was very' small, "whereas the boating charges for • landing the lumber of 2s. per 100 feet wero altogether saved. The experiment was repeated on Thursday with the ketch Wild Wave, 70 tons reg., ladon with bricks, and with equal success.
