DUNEDIN.

(From the Daily Time 3, March Ist.) During the past few days orders from the country have been rather more numerous, thereby imparting to town business a more cheerful aspect. Flour has been in more extensive demand, but such is the scarcity of Adelaide brands in the market, that orders are with difficulty executed, and holders arc enabled to obtain LlB to Ll9 per ton. A large sale 'of 2000 bags of Scotch oats reported at 3s for shipment to Auckland . On Saturday about 3000 sugar bags were placed privately at prices w ; hich have not transpired, but said to be about 2s per cwt. above those obtained at Messrs A. S. Fisher and Co.'s sale on Thursday last. Mkssrs M'Landrkss, Hepburn and Co., held their wool sale at tlieir auction rooms yesterday. The attendance of buyers was good, but in consequence of their not having been accustomed in tbis I market to bid for handwashed and scoured wool, I the bidding was not of that spirited nature which ' characterised former sales. As the lots were prini cipally handwashed and scoured wools, and as buyers I in this market generally prefer wool in the grea.~e, f but few lots were disposed of at auction. Greasy wool fetched from 9d to lO&d ; handwashed, lGfd ; and scoured wool, ls lld per lb. After the sale ; the auctioneers wez-e enabled to clear the catalogue of all the lots privately at full prices.
