The " Reform Ministry 1 ' has succumbed to fate, and the good sense of the House. As we anticipated, Mr Cowan was not strong enough to survive the thi-oes of a financial statement. Having with considerable pain to .himself and to 'his hearers delivered himself of it, he, in proceeding with the Estimates at Monday evening's sifting, brought the patience of the House to a cjima#. Three times was
a division taken, and three times the "'Reform .Ministry" was defeated— twice by eight against three, and once on the motion for adjonrnment by seven against four. Nothing was left but to advise his Honor to send for some one more likely to command a majority in the House, and better entitled to its respect. Mr Stuart, we understand-, has been sent for, and has undertaken to construct an Executive, one or" the members of which will, in all probability, be the late Provincial Treasurer, Mr Chalmers.
