3rd February. At yesterday's sitting of the Riverine Council, there Avas an earnest discussion upon the policy of associating. Different opinions were, expressed as "to the result of the president's railway scheme, many considering that it compromised the Avhole movement. The result was that the president resigned, placing his resignation in the hands of the secretary — consenting to hold office till his successor is appointed, or an opportunity afforded of appealing to the public. At the strong desire of the council, the president consented to Mr. Desailly accompanying him to Sydney, for the forthcoming debate on the Riverine resolutions.
