The Edward Thornhill left the inner anchorage yesterday (Wednesday) for New Kiver, but was obliged to bring up at the Pilot Station through contrary wind. The fine clipper ship Sfcav of Tasmania, with a valuable freight of gold and wool, part of which , was shipped at Onmaru, sailed on Monday afternoon for London, having been towed outside the Heads by the Samson. She is the second wool ship of the season, and takes nearly the same cargo as the Chile, She will be succeeded by the barque St. Dunstan. Is in excellent trim for making- one of those speedy passages for which she is already celebrated. — Daily Times, Feb. 9. Steamer to Melboursu. — The new auxiliary screw steamship k'oval Standard, which has just been added to the White Stay line of Australian clippers, sailed from Liverpool yesterday for Melbourne. 'J his fine vessel had about 300 passengers, and one of the largest and probably the most valuable cargo ever sent from Liverpool to Australia in a single ship. It is erpected that she will make a rapid passage. — The Times, November 24. •
