The charges agreed upon are as follows : — For any message not exceeding ten (10) words, two shillings, and . sixpence (2s. 66..). Each additional word one penny (Id.). Press messages sent from a duly authorised agent will be charged the following reduced rate : — Twelve (12) words or under, one shilling (Is.). Messages exceeding twelve words, one penny per word. No charge will be made for the date, address, or signature to any message, and it is particularly requested that the two latter may be as clear and explicit as possible. A, M. WELDON, Director of Telegraphs. « ' •' _ IMMIGRATION. riIHE Government of Southland having X issued instructions to the Home Agents to ; lay on vessels from Great Britain, direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of \ parties interested in the Province is directed .to the, following Section of^ Instrucr " tipns'to Immigration Agents— namely, " Persons residing in theProvinee of Southland, desirous of assisting their friends to immigrate to the Province, may obtain for t^hem assisted passages hither, by pre-payihg one-third of 'the passage money, and accepting a Bill for the remaining two-thirds, drawn by the Provincial Treasurer, and endorsed by a substantial householder, residing in the Province, and approved of by the Superintendent as sufficient security for the same.
