Tiolent Assault. — Alexander Macplierson was, brought up on remand, charged with an assault on Mr. Morrison, of the Accommodation House, Benmore. 1 ;It appeared that th 1 prosecutor, who had been, as it will be recollected, .stabbed -in the head, was ;still too unwell to attend. The case' was remanded for another week. '- ' Discharged. — -S. Sintohaud John Grey, who had been remanded on Wednesday, charged with stealing potatoes from the garden of a fanner at Ryal Bush, were brought up, and; in. the absence of the prosecutor, were .discharged. ■ Ijtoecent Assault?. — Hugh M'lntosh was charged with, on assault, with intent to commit a rape on Eliza Connelly. The evidence (unfit to be made public) only justified the Bench in committing the prisoner for trial for an irideeent assault. Bail was taken for his appearance, Saturday, 6th February, 1864. Drunkenness. — Only- one: person was fined for -being, drunk.onthe previous day. Stealing 'Tools:— Andrew C. Bell was brought .. - up ; ; on a , waiTant ,by Detective Forrester^ charged with stealing a quantity of tools, of-- the -value of ; £s; s from William P 4 ettigre\v>.
