I£oy Attacedd by Bats, — .On Saturday noon last, an attack v>'a§ made by three rats on a youth named Gerval, residing near Redruth, Cornwall. It appears that the lad, who is about fifteen years of age, was in a dilapidated old barn, eating some bread and boef, •when a large rat ran up Ms back a.n.4 attempted to seize the foqri which l^e -\\,as putting in Ijiip, mouth- it? seized it b,y the throat, but before ho had atrftngled it two others came to the rescue and commenced a determined attack upon him. TJicy bit liis face in two places, and attempted to bite through the' clothing which protected his shoulder.
