CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.
The Argus, of the 18th ult., says:— tC The ship King of the Seas, which will leave to-day for Melbourne, will take twenty-one passengers from this port." The U.S. war steamer Vanderbilt had seized the Cape barque Saxon, on the African coast on suspicion of being a Confederate privateer. The mate of the Sixon, Mr Oray. wns shot by Mr Donaghue, an officer of the Vanderbili (apparently with little provocation), while the Federal officers were in possession of the ship. The affair had created a very great deal of excitement and strong feeling at the Cape.
