IMMIGRATION. fTIHE Government of Southland having L issued instructions to the Home Agents to lay on vessels from Great Britain, direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of parties interested in the Province is directed to the following Section of Instructions to Immigration Agents— namely, " Persons residing in the Province of Southland, desirous of assisting their friends to immigrate to the Province, may obtain for them assisted passages hither, by pre-paying one- third of the passage money, and accepting a Bill for the remaining two-thirds, drawn by the Provincial Treasurer, and endorsed by a substantial householder, residing in the Province, and approved of by the Superintendent as sufficient security for the same. " In the event of parties not availing themselves of such assisted passages within twelve months, their certificates may be cancelled, and the prepaid amount returned to the Applicants." Passages at the rate of £15 10s per statute adult, of which one-third [£5 3s 4d) to be prepaid. Applications for Passage Certificates for the January mail to be made at this office between the hours of ten and three o'clock on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in each week afcer the 3rd of January, 1864.
