Public Notices. PROVINCE OF SOUTHLAND £2500 REWARD. POR THE DISCOVERY OF A PAYABLE L GOLDFIELD. Fifteen hundred pounds (£1500) of which will be guaranteed by the Southland Prospecting Association, and one thousand pounds (£1000) by the Southland Government, in accordance with a notice in th«» Government Gazette — to the following effect, viz., " That a Ecward of £1000 will be paid to any party who shall discover a Payable Goldfield within twelve months from the date heroof, conditionally on the discoverer or discoverers giving satisfactory proof to the Government that 16,0000zs of gold, the hona fide produce of that particular Field, being within the Province of Southland shall have been realised and brought to Invereargill within 12 months from the date of the discovery, and duly reported to His Honor the Superintendent." The Southland Prospecting Association will pay their subsidy of £1500, in virtue of the following resolution passed at a Public Meeting at Invereargill, November 11th, 1863, viz. — " That the said Reward of £1500 will be paid to such person or persons who may be declared entitled to the Government Reward of £1000. Intending Prospectors are. also notified of the following resolutiou passed at the same Meeting, viz. — "That in ihe event of a payable Goldfield beiDg 1 discovered in the Otago Province, and such Goldfiold being shown to be to the advantage of Southland, that the Committee shall have power to give a proportionate reward to the discoverers and such Money to be> raised as the Committee may deem most advisable.By order ot tho Committee of the South land Prospcciing Association.
