' , -j; The latest local, commercial, trade reports wad price lists issued by the Home or other colonial markets, will be carefully selected, so that every opportunity will be taken advantage of for placing the merchants of this district in a position to com- : pete with traders in other parts of the Province" as well as those located in neighboring Provinces. Munro, Mr R Mills, Messrs Daniel and Teek, and at the Royal Hotel. R. OSBORNE CARRICK & CO., Proprietors. PROVINCE OF SOUTHLA N D £2500 REWARD. UIOR THE DISCOVERY OF A PAYABLE I 1 GOLDFIELD. Fifteen hundred pounds (£1500) of which will bo guaranteed by the Southland Prospecting Association, and one thousand pounds (£1000) by the Southland Government, in accordance with a notice in the Government Gazette — to the following effect, viz., " That a Reward of £1000 will be paid to any party who shall discover a Payable Gold-* field within twelve months from tho date hcroof, conditionally' on the discoverer or discoverers giving satisfactory proof to the Government that 16,00Uojs of gold, the bona fide produce of that particular Field, being within the Province of Southland shall have been realised and brought to Invercargill within 12 months from the date of the discovery, and duly reported to His Honor the Superintendent." The Southland Prospecting Association will pay their subsidy of £1500, in virtue of the following resolution passed at a Public Sleetiajj at Invercargill, November Ilth, 1863, viz.— "That ; the said Reward of £1500 wdll be paid to such person or persons who may be declared entitled to the Government Reward of £1000. Intending Prospectors are also notified of the following resolution passed at the same Meeting, viz. — " That in the event of a payable Goldfield being discovered in the Otago Province, and such Goldlield being shown to be to the advantage of Southland, that the Committee shall have power to give a proportionate reward to the discoverers and such Money to be raised as the Committee may deem most advisable.
