Formation and metalling of a portion of Palmerston street, Riverton. Tenders received till noon of Monday, 28th December. Plans and Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Roads and Bridges Office, Invercargill ; and at the office of Messrs. Surman and Crerar, Riverton. i\ Construction of six culverts and approaches thereto on the Great North Road, near t"'-e Irthing River. Tenders , received till noon of Monday, 28th December. Specification may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Roads and Bridges Office, Invercargill ; and at the Camp of the Road Inspector, Dome Pass. 3. Construction of forty-eight chains of the Koad from Invereargill to Campbelltown, near O'Brien's Accommodation House. Tenders received till noon of Monday, 28th December. 4 Pitching and Metalling Great North Road from Invercargill to Waihopai Bridge. — Tenders received till noou of the sth January, 1864. 5. Constntction of 14lfc Chains of the Road from Riverton to Otautau.- Tenders received till noon of the sth January, 1864. Plans and specifications to be seen at the Roads and Bridges Engineer's office, Inveicargill, and at the office of Messrs Surman and Crerar, Riverton. Public Works Department. 3. Painting Police Station and Stables, Gore. No eligible tender having been received, tenders will be received till noon of the 29th inst. 4. School and Teacher's House, Waianiica District, Section 3, Block V. — Tenders received till noon of the sth January. 1864. THE Government of Southland having issued instructions to the Home Agents to lay on vessels from Great Britain, direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of parties interested in the Province is directed to the following Section of Instructions to Immigration Agents— namely, j " Persons residing in tlie Province of Southland, desirous of assisting their fiiends to immigrate to the Provin.ee, may obtain for them assisted passages hither, by pre-paying one-third of the passage money, and accepting a Bill for the remaining two-thirds, drawn by the Provincial Treasurer, and endorsed by a substantial householder, residing in the Pro--1 vince. and approved of by tha Superintendent \ as sufficient security for the same. " In the event of panics not availing themselves of such assisted passages within twelve months, their certificates maybe cancelled, and the prepaid amount returned to the Applicants." Passages at the rate of £15 10s pei* statute adult, of which cne-third (£5 3s 4d) to be prepaid. Applications for Passage Certificates for tlie January mail to be made at this office between the hours of ten and three o'clock on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in each week after the 3rd of January, 1864. NOTICE. fTUIE Public is desired to take notice that I no permission can be granted by tlie Waste Land Board to occupy Waste Lands of the Crown in terms of subjoined Resolution of the Board, of date 13th inst. Block 11, Jacob's River Hundred, will be open for application, Persons having applications for unsurveyed Land in this Block must attend personally, or by agent, at the Land Office, at 12 o clock, on Friday, the 2nd day of January, to have their claims settled, otherwise the 15th clause of the Land Regulations will be enforced.
