NEW RUSH AT THE NEVIS.
(Fp.hi tlie Jr«7.-«li[j Jfni/, Dec. l(i.) ]]y llie kindness of Mr Pontitijj, of tho Wakatip steamer, we have received the fo'lowin? copy of a report l>v Mr Warden Wood of a new rush at the Nevis. The prospecting claim was granted on the I:2th inst. The new rush is ahout 2o miles (Voin the Nevis township. Tlie prospectors applied for a claim in a creek rising out of the Remavkfibk 1 Mountains on the east side, joining a creek which runs in'o the Kawarnu. The distance from Frankton f>'rrv across tlie Kfiwarau is about 2o milos, and 10 from ilie Kawarmi River. The prospectors turned the creek, andwhi'e lhr<-e were cutting a ta'l-rare, tlie oheitook out of the crevices in the rode ;sozs lolwtsof course frnld. The "round h* 1 I took it from was about, six feet lonir by I about four feet vvMe.
