SOUTH AUSTRALIV.
Adelaide, 2aid October. Papers were laid on the table of tho Assembly to-(?ay, showing that the Government had given six month's notice, from September la-=t, of their intention at the end of that period to collect duties on goods sent up the Murray River. The reason put for-vard for this determination is that Victoria has refused to collect duties on goods conveyed to South Australia thro gh the south-eastern district. It is cur ently report f d thu Parliament will be prorogued on Friday next. Miss Joey Gougenhuim has been reengaged at the Theatre here for another month from llie 2nd proxi:no. Another pugilistic encounter in the street took place to-day, between Mr Robert on the one side, a»d Mr Robert Cussen and Mr John Hodgkiss on the other. There is a great demand here for the Melbourne Age of the Bi.h October, which contains a leading article on the Moonta Mining case. One gentleman wishes to obtain fifty copies. All the shaves in the Matta Matta Mines have been taken up. The quotations for flour to-d^y are Ll2 to LV2 i\)s; wheat ss. 4d. ,
