NO Eligible Tender having been received for the supply of 30,000 Sleepers for this Railway, Tenders will be received till ©on of the 3rd of November. These Sleepers are to be delivered in quantities, ranging from 500 to 3030, at different points along the line. Superintendent's Office, Southland, 22nd October, 18G3, STEAM TUG. fTIENDERS will be received at this Office JL till noon of the 16th November, from parties willing to furnish a Steam Tug for the service of the ports of New River and Bluff Harbor, for a period of not less than six months fiom date of acceptance of contract. Vessel to be of not less than 100 tons measurement, nor less than 30 horse-power nominal, and to be proved In every respect sound and seaworthy. The necessary certificates -to that effect, or certified duplicates thereof, to be enclosed with, tlie Tender. One month's notice in writing on either side, at expiration of contract, to terminate the service. The service to commence within one week of the acceptance of contract. By Order, W. 11. THE Government of Southland having issued instructions to the Home Agents to lay on vessels from Great Britain, direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of parties interested in the Province is directed to the following Section of Instructions to Immigration Agents— namely, xt - Persons residing in the Province of Southland, desirous of assisting their friends to immigrate to the Province, may obtain for them assisted passages hither, by pre-paying one-third, of the passage money, and accepting a Bill for the remaining two-thirds, drawn by the Provincial Treasurer, and endorsed by a substantial householder, residing in the Province, and approved*bf by the Superintendent as sufficient security for the same. " In the event of parties not availing them- ' selves of such assisted passages within twelve months, their certificates may be cancelled, and the prepaid amount returned to the Applicants." Passages at the rate of £15 10s per statute adult, of which one-third (.£5 3s 4d) to be prepaid. i Applications for passage Certificates to be made at this office, between the hours of 10 and 3 o'clock, on the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in each week.
