The Edina left Port Chalmers Reads atfipm ♦ on the evenning of the 26th instant, and arrived at the Bluff at 10 a.m. yesterday moi ning; passed the Gothenburg at 6 a.m.j light winds from tho north east throughout the passage. The Edina takes 20,000 oz* gold and 20.000 sovereigns from Port Chalmers to Melbourne, besides sixty passengers The Gothenburg left Melbourne at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 21st instant; had fine weather, with light variable winds. Passed the Aldinga on the .morning of the 23rd instant, ninety miles east of Swan Island; sighted the same afternoon, a large ship, supposed to be tho Vortigern, with sheep, bound for this port ; signalled a barque on the 25ih. but could not make out her number plainly, supposed to be the Francis Henty. Arrived at the Bluff, after a fine run of five days, on the 2Gtli instant, atll p.m., landing 60 passengers for Southland. Ciptain Mackie reports the Alhambra wa& to leave Melbourne, on Saturday, the 24th instant. She takes for Dunedin, 100 passengers, and a lull complement of cargo. The barque Australasian Packet arrived yesterday....afternoon from Dunedin. S'ie left Port Chalmers on the Ist instant. Had S S.E. winds until clear of New Ze'land, and since then light westerly winds, with fine weather throughout, being obliged to reef topsails only onccs The land was made at Cape Pillar on Wednesday morning. The Australasian Packet was in company with the Swordfish and brig Louisa in Foveaux Straits on the 3rd instant, and at the same time a origan tine, name unknown, and the brig Alarm were in sight. The Swordfish ' was seen a^aih about midwr.y between this and New Zealand. Ala'gesjer.n whale spouted near the vessel on Wednesday morning off the Pillar. — Hobart Town Advertiser, October 15.

The ship T. B. Milledge, Captain Wilßon, dropped anchor shortly after 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She left Otago Heads on the 29th ultimo, and experienced variable winds arid weather throughout the passage. The T. E. Milledge is a very fine vessel of large tonnage and American build, having been launched at New Brunswick in 1857, She ' has put in here to fit up for the conveyance of stock between Twofold Bay and Dunedin, and to take a quantity of hay onboard.— Hobart Town Advertiser, October 15, • The brig Alarm left Otago Heads on the morning of the Ist instant, and arrived here yesterday afternoon. The land was made off the Schouten's four days since, and for three^days the vessel was becalmed.
