The (Jolonne Gazette has the following : — "The following fact will show the manner in which the Russian authorities proceed in Lithuania. Count Komar, one of the richest landowners in that country, and formerly colonel in the Russian Guard, has long resided with his family at Nice His son, aged Ifi, was pursuing his studies at the university of Wilna, under the guardianship of his uncle. In April last the lad left Wilna, to join the insurgents, and at the end ofafVw weeks fell into the hands of the Russians. The father is now made to suffer for the conduct of his son. All the estates of Count Komar, pariiculary his principal domain of Rogowek, hfive been pillaged aud put under sequestration." The Archduke Maximilian, wlio is brother nf the Emperor of Austria, was born on July 6 1832. and married in July, 1850, the Archduchess Charlotte, daughter of ihe King of the Belgains. The pTince is vice-admiral and commander-in-c.Hef of the Austrian fleet, and up to 1559 was governor general of the jLombarclo-Vene-lian kingdom. He is a man of liberal mind, and enjoys a high reputation in Europe.
