''His rtussion was unsuccessful, the King of Prussia refusing to :give his adhesion to theiCohgress. The' sittings, of the .princes on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of Au's-ust. resulted in the solution of the question ,of a <JDirectorate. This body will consist of.^six members, to be constituted thus •'— Austria, Prussia, and Bavaria willYhjaye each one vote ; Saxony, Hanover,-aud^Wur-temburg together one vote in turh;YElectoral Hesse, and the seven Grand Duchies will nominate the fifth member, and the remaining German Stales-elect the sixth. The question of the presidency of ihe Directorate is left open for Austria and Prussia to decide.
