ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
WE DO NOT HOtD OURSELVES RESPONSIBLE FOR THB OPINIONS EXPRESSED BY OUB I CORRESPONDENTS. I (To the Editor ofthe Invercargill Times.) Sir— l see by your contemporary's issue of this date, that it is probable the Eleven of England may visit this town, thanks to the enterprise of Mr S Jones of Dunedin. By their appearance here I suppose every body will be delighted. But in the event of their coming, may I ask who is to play with them ? I certainly leel somewhat surprised that more young men have not come forward to join the Sonthland Cricket Club : but, however, as a meeting will be held this evening (Friday) I hope to see a good muster. I have already made arrangements with some half-dozen. 1 may say professional cricketers to join us, therefore, if a really good Club is not at once formed, I think Southland will be disgr ced not only in the eyes of the Eleven, but more especially in those of the Otago men. I am, Sir, Yours &c, •JameSvColyee. ■ Princess Hotel, 22nd Oct. 1863. -
