TASMANIAN COMMERCIAL.

(From the JlobaH Town Advertiser, Oct. 1.) A> I vices from the other colonies a«s again i anxiously looked for, and until they arrive low • speculative movements will lake place. Produce , of all kinds is in fair demand, and price-: rjinaiu unaltered. No sales of consequence have been effected i LACyCESTOIT. i We take the following from the Cornwall ' Chronicle of the 30th ult.: — Tnc dread of tho arrival of large importations of breadstuffs from California, into the adjoining colonies, prevents all speculation here, 'and limits legitimate transactions. The wholesale destruction of Federal vessels by the Confederate war steamers Alabama and Georgia having shut Californian vessels out of some of their best markets, there is certainly strong reason to expect that extensive shipments will bo made to those throughout the Australian colonies. Holders generally are very firm in demanding 5s G I per bushell for wheat, but, 5< 3<l is the highest price obtainable- L irge stocks of flour remain on hand, and the price is receding, Ll2 to L l2 10-i per ton boing the highest figures at which transactions have lately bnen effected; Oats remain in demand at 5s 3d to Ss 6 I per bushel. Potatoes are also in brisk demand for export, and from L 6 to L 6 G^ per ton can readily be obtained for good sound parcel*.
