About 4? miles from toivn, the road turns to the left, and from thence to Winlon Bush (IS miles) the dray track should be kept, then the Survey line to the River Oreti fl2 miles); from thence follow the dray-track to the Elbow Accommodation House. By this route, 30 miles are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be L-yt .ill the way. There is an accommodation house at IVallacetown, 7 miles from Invercargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 miles; another at the Elbow, 54 miles ; another at Rogers, 74 miles ; and another at the foot of the Lake 92 miles.
