We will sell the Centre Hill Station by auction on the Bth December, contaiuing 4.'J,u00 acres, with 7000 shoep. Horses (as furnished by Messrs Milner and Learmonth.) — The trade for the last fourteen days has exhibited great animation, and any fresh arrivals of horses meet with immediate purchasers at prices considerably in advance of our last quotations. The demand has almost entirely been upon light harness horses an i packers, and there is every probability that ib will exist for some months, taking into consideration the exodus of the population for the mining districts which is sure to arise from the reports of new rushes to the different parts of the country during the summer months. Draught horses command at present but little attention. This is attributable in a great measure to the unsettled state of miners, but as soon as any of the reported rushes become thoroughly established, cartage must go up, and consequently we may naturally expect n considerable advance in prices i for this stamp. On the 18th instant, tho Onerust arrived from Melbourne with 140 horses, 323 of which were consigned to us. On Monday we sold Mr George Henry's lot, which sold at an average

of L35 per head. The same day Messrs Smith and Mixner'a at'nnnvcrage : of.L23 per head. On Wednesday, "Mr Derliain's; lot of 44, all light harness nnd packers, averaging L27 per head. Mr A. H . Bartiett's sold at an average of L 35 per head on Saturday. Mr Win. Ormauby's at an average ot L29 16d per head. Great demand still exists for packers and light harauss horses. This market closes exceedingly firm, and prices have an upward tendency. Prices current are : — Fir.st-class draught horses from LSS to LBS ; second-class do do L 45 to L6O; inferior do do, L3O to L 3 5; young, active, and well-bred hackneys do, LSO to LCS ; light harness and packers do, L2B to his; in'erior hacks do, Lls to 1/50.
