To wait in Melbourne for the Mail, if detained, not more than four days, after its due date. 2. A steamer to leave Port Chalmers for Melbourne, calling at the BlufF, carrying J the Homeward Mail of the Colony to Melbourne not later than two p.m. on the 16th of each month, except February, and then on the 14th. The steamers employed must be subject to the approval ofthe Government, and must be ablo to, maintain an average speed of not less than eight knots an hour on each voyage. The contract to commence on January lst, 1864, and to continue in force until the expiration of six calendar months' notice to be given by either of the parties to the other of his intention to determine the same ; provided always tbat the contract shall not terminate before the 31st day of Decern, ber, 1864.
