By this route, 30 tnilcs are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be kept :dl the way. There is an accommodation house at Wallacetoton, 7 miles from Invercargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 mites; another at the Elbow, 54 miles ; another at Bogers, 74: miles ; and another at the foot of the Lake 92 miles.
