About 4 5 miles from town, the road turns to the left, and from thence to Winton Bush flB miles) the dray track should he kept, then the Survey line to the River Orcti (12 miles); from thence follow the dray-track to the Elbow Accommodation House. By thix route, 30 ?nil*s are saved, and if the Orcti is high the East Bank can be kept all the way. There is an accommodation house at Wallacetown, 7 miles from Invercargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 mile*; another at the Elbow, 54 miles; another at Rogers, 74 miles ; and another at the foot of the Lajce 92 wtiVes.
