LATER OBERVATIONS TO AUGUST 14.
Fine weather prevailed until the Bth at midnight, when a severe storm commenced from flic westward, and has continued, with thunder, rnir ? hail, and sr ow, up to the present date. The storm was preceded by a rise of tho barometer, which has siuce remained stationary at 20*53 inches. The nights have been unpreisedentedty mild (minimum 31 f10g.,) but the days cold, causing tho ir.eun temperature tv fall 2*4 deq;. below the average of six years. The following is a summary of observations during the first fourteen days of this month : — Mean barometrical pressure, 29*431 inclies. Mean temperature of the air, 41*9 deg.
