We (& A . Register) have, received from our own correspondent the following summary of news to the 16th June. Immigrants and convicts eligible for tickets-ol'-leave remain iv the depots of the colony unemployed. , The Queen's birthday was celebrated on Wednesday. 27th May, by a review of the pensioner force and volunteer corps and the usual bull at the Government House. A Divorce Bill is under consideration by the Legislative Council. Another convict ship, the Clyde has arrived, with 820 prisoners. The new settlements on the north-west coHst are said to be deficient in timberMr Padbury, who has returned from Ni'-ol Bay, after convening the first instalment of cattle and sheep, has been feted by the people. The Tientsin, the vessel in which he made his expedition, has been chartered by Mr Wellard for L4soper month, to convey stock from Swan River to the new settlements. Reports of the quality of the pasturage and abundance of the water are very favorable. The natives are said to be harmless, though tall and muscular, eating raw tobacco with much gusto, but they lied on the sight of the horned cattle. MrPenberthy, a mining captain lately arrived from England to superintend the Fortune Minn, speaks n.ost highly of all the mineral districts of Champion Bay in this colony. A proposiiion of the Governor to assess country lands for funds wherewith to effect the construction and repair of roads and bridges throughout the colony has caused some excitement, many declaring that all the colonial public works should be executed at the expe.nse of the Imperial Government, with convict funds. Flour lias risen in price, the quotations being entirely governed hy those in the Adelaide market. The Ysmyr arrived at Swan River with genera! cargo <>n Sth June. No foreign departures in the month. Accounts of the agricultural and pastoral operations and prospects of the various districts of the colony are highly encouraging.
