In common justice the inhabitants of Esk-sfreet ought to be exempt from any tax connected with the lto 1 Board department, for why should we have to pay becaiiso! they have been kind enough to make Dee and Tay- streets alone good, and to take all tralie from Esk-street? After nightn-U a man almr t risks li.c and -limb if h« ventures out in Esk-street even if sober, but the unfortunate man who has taken a glass too much, quickly finds his way to the bottom of the drain. [ should not like to see .y ot the anything but selfish gentlemen of the Road Board so come to grief, out two or three ■.mblcr, into our drain would not do them any harm, and migtit do us good, for then they would see to having the street improved. The Times, in yesterday's issue, were crowirtg about the improvements in our streets ; perhaps jthey are not aware there is such a street as Eskstreet in Invercargill.
