ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
WE I>O NOT HOT.D OUKSEI-VES RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OTINION'S EXPRESSED BY OUB CORRESPONDENTS. (To the Editor of the Invercargill Times.) SiX, — Some time since I became a subscriber to the funds of the Mechanics' Institute, under the impression that I vroultl derive tho same benefits usually accruing to members of similar institutions elsewhere ; but it would appear that I was laboring uniler a sad mistake. The Mechanics' Institute in Jnvorear£til, existing only in name, there being neither library nor reading room. I think it would be desirable in future that a little more energy should be displayed by those gentlemen who form the committee, in enabling the public to participate in the benefits derived from suuh neeossary and beneficial institutions. I remain, &c, MECHANIC.
