SHORTEST AND MOST DIRECT ROUTK TO THE LAKE DIGGINGS. FOR THE INFORMATION OP NEW ARRIVALS The nearest route for pedestrians going to the Lake, is the North Road. A bout 4} miles from \town, the road turns io the left, and from thence to Winton Hush flB miles J the dray track should be kept, then the Survey line to the Hirer Oreti (\1 miles); from thence follow the dray-track to the Elbow Accommodation House. By this route, 30 miles are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be kept all the way. There is an accommodation house at Wallacetown, 7 miles from Invercargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 miles; another at the Elbow, 54 miles; another at Rogers, 74 miles ; and another at tho Joot of the Lake 92 miles.
