About 4* miles from 'town, the road turns to the left, and from thence to Winton Bush (\% miles) the dray track should be kept, then the Survey line to the River Oreti (\1 miles); from thence follow the dray-track to tho Elbow Accommodation House. By this route, 30 miles are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be kept all the way. There is an accommodation house at Wallacetown, 7 miles from Invercargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 miles ; another at the Elbow, 54 miles; another at Rogers, 74 miles; and anoih&r at the joot of the Lake 92 miles.
