SANDHURST.
May 2 The Queen's celebration on Sandh is a success. The day has been fin?? cold and bracing. About eleven o'clo< large procession, including members of municipality, Volunteer Cavalry and Ri a few of our public bodies, and num of our chief citizens, with several of public schools, started from the T Hall, proceeding through, our prini streets to' the Criiket Ground, at 1 Creek. The Rifles paraded and fir feu de joie ; then the most interesting ture in the day's proceedings occurri the chairman of the municipality pres ing- each of the school children, to number of above 500, with a meda] commemoration of the Royal marr and ample refreshment ; after whi< number of good old English sports c off with eclat. While I write Sandhui one blaze of light. Conspicuous an the illuminations ar;; our handsome 1 Hall, many of our public buildings, Mall, the Bank of Australasia, and Shamrock Hotel. A number of tickets for the Birtl Ball in Town Hall have been sold, upper ten thousand are expected to t oat en masse. Altogether this affair gone off most creditably, evincing that Bendigo is proved to the core in loy and patriotism.
