Althotigh subtnarinetelegraphyisan industry which only dates from 1851, it appears that the length of cable submerged to the present date is calculated at 15,176^ miles. Htlngerford Bridge is rapidly disappearing. Nearly all the framework has been removed, and by the beginning of next week both towers will have disappeared.
