COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
PUNEDTN rOMMEK^IAT,. (From the T)aihi Times. 9th May.) j The anticipated improvement, in the up-country trade has not been realised, and we have to report the same dulness as last week. The imports continue unusually large, and warehouses appear to be overstocked with most articles of consumption, the exceptions being verv few. The Alhambra brings a full cargo. Tlio Chariot of Fame sailed last" "Wednesday for London, with 1.149 bales wool, and 39,501 oz gold, shipped principally by two of our banks. The John Duncan is expeetrd to clear on or about the 24th inst., with 1.000 bales wool, and 00,000n z gold. The very limited quantity of goods offering for the Dunstan, and the real y fine state of the weather, hns reduced the frices of cartage, and the tendency is downward. We quote the following current rates this day : — | Lake Wakntipu, £58 for flour, £63 for light goods ; Dunstan, £38 for flour ; £40 for general loading; do, bullock teams. £35. Very few goods are being sent via "Waikouaiti, the want of a proper ietty operating against this medium of transit. 'The passage of the Molyneus is suspended for the time being, until the new punt is completed.
