We have Hobart Town papers to the 20th ult. The Advertiser of that date says : — ■ The advices from the other colonies has not had any influence as yet upon present quotations. The cricket match between the St. John's and Derwent Cricket Clubs, resulted in the tatter winning by two runs only. The play of Whiteside and Barclay very good. Letters have been received from the agent of the T. S. N. Co. in England, announcing that the new steamer had been commenced, and it was anticipated that she would be ready to sail about the end of October. On Saturday afternoon two soldiers ofthe 12th Regiment jumped overthe , Barrack fence, and in a most excited | state paraded the town, one being armed with a sword. On proceeding along Macquarrie-street, they met an old man named McGuire, whom they assaulted. They then proceeded along without further mischief down Harnng-ton-strept until they came to the Manchester Unity Arms, where they rushed in and took possession ofthe bar. Ihe landlord at once ran for Sub-Inspector Dorsett, who directed the picket to b e sent for, whise he. with Mr Walton, stood for upwards of an bour eruarding the hours, the men bavins: all this time full and absolute possession. Finding no. sign of the picket approaching, Dorj set went to the barracks. When, how- ! ever, the picket arrived at the Manchester Unity public honsf-, the soldiers had gone. Subseqnently one of them was apprehended, and the other managed to elude the vio*ilance of the authorities, and up to Saturday evening was not taken.
