| Adelaide, 29th April. The Chief Secretary stated in the Assembly, last ! night, that the pledge given by the Conference * delegates not to divulge their proceedings did not extend to the petition against transportation. A telegram haa heen received by our Treasurer, Mr. Blytb, from Mr. O'Shanassy, stating that with '■ regard to the divulging of the transportation petition, ho had made no statement calculated to make any impression at all prejudicial to our delegates. In the Assembly to-night, Mr. Lindsav moved that lawyers' opinion be taken relative to ■ the over-issue of notes by the National Bank. The motion was unanimously rejected. The steamer Ant is to receive L 350 for conveying the South Australian English mails to Melbourne. Captain Trouton, of tho Wonga Wonga, in a letter to the Roqister, says that the paragraph in the Argus of the 23rd about the Wonga Wonga being defective, was unauthorised. He says, before leaving Melbourne she was inspected by the Victorian Government superintendent of engines, and was approved of and declared seaworthy. The Register says a great deal of speculation in sugar, teas, and spirits is going on. 100 tons of Dunn's flour were sold to-day, at £12 6s. Their price now is £12 10s. 5,000 bushels of wheat were quitted to-day at 4s 11-|d. Meesrs. Townsend and Co. sold the cargo of potatoes ex Yarra, from Circular Head, at £8 17s 6d per ton, Cleared out : Sea Shell, for Invercargill ; with a cargo of flour, bran, and hay.
