Messrs. Kobebtson akd Co. report — The state of the roads and the high rate of cartage to the diggings, has increased the demand for draught horses to a very great extent, so much so indeed/that it is scarcely possible to obtain good and staunch cattle at any rate, and from what we can see this is likely to continue for some time, at least, -until the arrival of the promised _ shipments from Melbourne and Hobart Town, which our advices inform us are nearly all superior heavy draught, and may be expected in from 10 to 14 days, when, we doubt not, they will arrive to a good market. Our yards for auction sales have been nearly destitute of horses of any kind, but bave been crowded with anxious buyers. We bave sold heavy draught from £75 to £90, light do, £55 to £65, superior hacks (still very scarce), £45 to £55, inferior and common do, from £20 to £25. Sheep.-— Store worth 23s to 255. Acclimatised ewes 30s, fat wedders 35s to 38s, acccording to weight. CattXiS*— Store worth from £11 10s to £1?. Fat do, very scarce. First-class beef from 55s to «5s per 1001 b.
