THE INVERCARGILL AND BLUFF ROAD.
Stransrers travelling to and from Tnvereargill and Bluff Harbour, if on horseback, will find that tlie distance between the above places (20 miles) may be travelled both with speed nnd comfort by envinEr Invereargill at half-ebb, and the Bluff at low water. Travellers on foot to leave the former place at first of the ebb, and the latter at last quarter ebb, bearing in mind that a westerly or P.W. gale will cause a seven hours' flood, leaving but five hours' ebb, so that it will be necessary to pet undnr way accordingly. The above distance is generally covered by horsemen in from 2\ to 3 hours, an on foot in from i\ to 6 hours.
