This has been the first day that goods could be landed on the Jetty, and inland carriage has been stopped. The roads in all directions are cut up, and the carriers are meditating a movement to urge the government to take some steps for the temporary repair of the roads at the wors ' places. Three-horse drays are leaving town for theWakntip with little over half a ton loading, and the rate per ton has sdvanced to £70 and £75.
