By tJiis route, 30 miles are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be kept all the way. There is an accommodation, house at Wallace town, 7 miles from Tnvcrcargill ; another at the Lime Hills, 25 miles; another at the Elbotr, 54 miles ; another at Rogers, 74 miles; and another at the Joot of the Lake, 82 miles.
