SHORTEST AND MOST DIRECT ROUTE
TO THE LAKE DIGGINGS.
FOR THE INFORMATION OF NEW ARRIVALS
The nearest route for pedestrians going to the Lake, is t/ie North Road. About 4 5 miles from town, the road turns to the left, and from thence to Winton Bush flB miles) the dray track should be kept, then the Survey line to the River Oreti (12 miles) ; from thence folloio the dray-track to the Elbow Accommodation House. By this route, 30 miles are saved, and if the Oreti is high the East Bank can be kept all the way.
