During the current week a fair demand for goods has been maintained, the purchasers being mostly draymen and others from the diggings; but the- arrivals have far exceeded requirements, smd at the present moment several vessels arc lying in the river unable to discharge for want of accommodation, particularly for bonded goods. We much fear that, as stocks are reported to be getting very full on llw di^in^s. many of the present importers wil! find much difficulty in realising, and, if necessitated to sell, will have to submit io very iow prices. Flour of best Adelaide brands is scarce, and xvorth L2Q per ton. A very lnr°;e quantity of Tasmnnian flour is oflVrinq; m 501 b and 1001 b bags, at lower rates, but sales slow. Oats. — Large arrivals have reduced the price tO 9-3. Hams ajtd TiACoy hare not been so much inquired for as last week, supplies for the dia^in^s boinjr known to be on the way from Duucdin ; Sinnll parcels are still worth Is (3d. Sugars are in fair demand, and realise from 5d tooi-d for sood counters. Tea. — Very slight inquiry; good congou from L 5 to LO per half ehest-. Tobacco. — No inquiry. Brandies, in bulk, fair demand at 15s 6d to 16a for Martell and Hennessey in bond. Gekeva 22s per case, in bond. WHISKY 69 6d per gallon, in bond. Alb Al?d Stottt, in bulk, no inquiry ; in case, 15s to 16s per dozen. There has been a good deal of inquiry for sundry praall articles, with which our dealers are as yet but slenderly supplied.
