Business is therefore somewhat dull in town. On Sunday fifteen vessels arrived in Port Chal- j mers, chiefly with cargoes of slock. They fi'so brought nearly 500 pjipsenjrcrs from different ports. Calicos and American Drixl are much sought for, but little or none in the markot. Moleskin Tucwsehs equally seai'ce and would command good prices. Sugar has improved, and vro hear of considerable private sales, but prices have not transpired. It Is quoted £28 for low qualities), and £42 for crystals: Bottled Stout continues scarce, and would sell at 133 to 13s 6d for pood brands. Oats more inquired for, at 9s 6d for good Colonial. Bran shows an upward tendency, and more saleable at Is 9d to Is lOd. Butter — "Wellington saleable at Is9d« Bacon and Chekse. — Good brands scarce and s.-k^ble at Is 3d to Is 4d. The meeting of Messrs. M'Leod and Gibson's crsli'-oi's convmod by them for tn-day, wrs held at their offices. The statement hid before the creditors showed liabilities of £9,030. The nsset» were estimated at £15,C09, but being chiefly book debts and current recounts, it wns considered desirable for their more prompt collection, and to save the estate from opposing creditors, so place it in trust. Messrs. Rattray, Sampson, and Quick were appointed trustees.
