Billiard Match at Newmarket. — A billiard match took place at the White Hart on the evening of Oct. 29 between Roberts (the Champion) and Dufton, the latter receiving 400 points out of 1000. Nothing daunted, however, Roberts took the cue in hand, and scored over 70 before he gave up to Dufton, who had only 17 to get to win. After getting eight, however, he missed, and his opponent went in again and won cleverly, amid tremendons cheering.
