t (From the Dally Times Correspondents.,) ( Adelaide, Jan. 10, 1863. < The Adelaide Register in to-day's issue pub- * lishes a letter received from Amherst- diggings, in which the writer remarks that Duffy's Land Act 1 will breed a class of pauperised yeomanry. The Advertiser says some of our stockholders ' Intend settling in the newly- explored north-west * ;ountry ; and also forwarding sheep to the Tic- J toria River. I It likewise s lates that offers have been made by * some parties in Sandhurst to this Government, to settle in some portion of Stuart's recently dis- I covered country, if sufficient inducement be given s them ; and it appears that another party residing c in Victoria have made a similar application to the j; Government for an outfit to enable them to pro- ' ?eed in search of auriferous country, by M'Kinley's route.
