Strangers travelling to and from Invercnrgill and Bluff ITarbour, if on horseback, will find that the distance between the abmo places (20 milrs) may be travelled both wilh speed and comfort by leaving Invercargill at lialf-ebb, and tlie Bluff at low water. Travellers on foot to leavo the former place at first of the ebb, and the latter at last quarter ebb, benring in mind that a westerly or S. W. gale will cause a seven hours' flood, leaving but five hours' ebb, so that it will be necessary to get under way accordingly. The above distance is fenerally covered by horsemen in from 2\ to 3 ours, anon foot in from 4^ to 6 hours.
