THE NEW RATES OF POSTAGE.

To Naval Seamen and SiJillers. — Letter^. sent to or by seamen and soldiers in Her Mujestjf*iJ service will be transmitted within the Colony, aili-f^ between the colony or any post-office in the Britif;** dominions, at a charge of one penny, provided thFT"' i lie following regulations are observed: — 1. Eap-S letter must not exceed half an ounce in weigh! ■'% 2. It must be superscribed with the name of ti ''■■*? writer, his disposition or class in the vessel or ren^3 ment, and signed by the officer at the time in coaJy mand. 3. The postage must be pre-paid. Free Letters. — Letters on the public serviV*--*---of Her Majesty's Naval and Military Forces, afi'ifexempted from the payment of postage, if bearit-^r the words, "On Her Majesty's Service," and tlfW signature of the officer in command of the forcepjy'tthe service of which the letter is despatched.
